The Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety is a 13-course curriculum that provides an introduction to patient safety, quality improvement, population health, health care leadership, and person- and family-centered care. Completion of all 13 courses earns users 17.5 Continuing Education (CE) Credits and the Safety and Quality Improvement Micro-Credential*.

Organizations around the world have used the Basic Certificate, paired with facilitated classroom and practical experiences, to prepare the health and health care leaders of tomorrow. 

*A micro-credential shows proof of completion for a series of courses from an accredited learning institution. They let employers and your professional network know that you have proficiency in a subject area. You can reference this micro-credential on your resume or CV as “Safety and Quality Improvement Micro-Credential, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, (Date of completion).”
