Connect and Collaborate with CQOs from Around the World

The IHI Chief Quality Officer (CQO) Network leverages IHI’s more than 30 years of trusted leadership in the field of quality improvement. Building on years of success of the Chief Quality Officer Professional Development Program, the CQO Network offers a space for quality and safety leaders from across the globe to convene, connect, and collaborate.

A true learning and innovation community, the CQO Network unites around the common vision to transform health systems, tackle seemingly intractable challenges, and measurably improve health outcomes. Our collective work has the potential to make a profound impact on the industry we lead and in the core components of high-quality care: safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient centered.

How We Work Together

  • The CQO Network is member-driven. Member priorities influence the learning, strategies, and collaborations.
  • Forums will include opportunities to discuss operational models for high reliability, quality improvement, and patient and employee safety.
  • Programming remains agile, responsive, and innovative, based on interests of the membership and the emerging challenges facing today’s quality leaders.
  • Continuing education credits are available for select CQO Network programming.

In-Person Meetings

In-person meetings, offered two times per year, provide the opportunity to connect with industry thought leaders and provocateurs, as well as each other. Network members help co-create agendas for meetings. There are also opportunities to participate in exclusive CQO-led programming at IHI events, including at the IHI Forum, to build community and share insights across global quality leaders.

Rapid-Learning Forums

The CQO Network is bold. Rapid, when-you-need-it exchange of improvement knowledge is core to the CQO Network. IHI convenes and facilitates member-to-member relationships and connections through asynchronous and virtual engagements. Join in a creative, dynamic network of leaders, highlight your contributions to the field, and learn from prominent quality and safety subject matter experts.

Collective Voice

The CQO Network is influential. Topic-specific, time-limited advocacy sprints will be convened to tackle issues of cross-organizational strategic importance. This includes opportunities for collective action, policy advocacy, and outputs for dissemination across global IHI Networks. Leveraging the power of our collective expertise, the CQO Network presents opportunities to catalyze the national and global dialogue regarding patient safety and health care quality.

Who Should Participate

The network is open to current Chief Quality Officers, or similar roles, from across IHI’s global community. Executive and C-suite leaders with responsibility for quality are also welcome to participate. This includes leaders from health care delivery organizations, health plans and insurers, regulatory bodies, hospital and professional associations, and other institutions.
